Logic Controls has been manufacturing Kitchen Display Systems (KDS) hardware since the early 1990s, when Logic Controls teamed up with IBM and Progressive software on the KDS project. Logic Controls designed and manufactured the KDS hardware that was private labeled as the IBM Kitchen Display System. hNet is a new generation of Kitchen Video System (KVS). This system offers the flexibility to achieve the most desirable kitchen automation features.

hNet represents a significant achievement in KVS technology and patent pending is filed in the US. In essence, hNet is a hybrid system that deploys more than one type of controllers operating in the same KVS system. For standard kitchen stations, highly reliable yet low cost controllers are used. For multi-function kitchen stations such as video training or running other applications high performance controllers are used.

Logic Serve is comprised of Logic Controls' line of fanless industrial computers such as LC8600 as well as the kitchen Command Platform software program.

LC8600 industrial computer is full Intel-compatible computers designed for industrial uses such as kitchen display systems. Amazing, LC8600 dimensions are only 2.0"H x 8.0"W x 6.3"L. The units provide unparalleled reliability by having all components reside on one PC board and using no moving mechanical parts. Storage, for example, is supplied by a solid state flash drive. It comes with a full compliment of I/O ports - ethernet, USB, serial, PS/2 keyboard/mouse and VGA port are all included. Connecting a wireless adapter to the units provides for a versatile wireless workstation.

For Kitchen Display Systems (KDS) applications that require video presentation, Logic Serve system is the correct choice. Each KDS workstation consists of a ruggedized industrial computer (LC8600). a bump bar (KB1700), and a 17-inch TFT LCD monitor (LL3017). Since the LC8200 Industrial Computer is a high performance PC, Logic Serve is compatible with a broad range of existing KDS application software.

The key component of Logic Serve is the industrial computer, model LC8600. Unlike the conventional PC, LC8600 is designed specifically to operate in the most demanding kitchen environment.

Logic Serve systems follow the standard ethernet topology. A typical 3-workstation system is shown at left.
